Northern Greece is a beautiful area with sights and attractions that reflect its long history and fascinate the visitor. Thessaloniki and Halkidiki are the most famous places to go, but the whole region is full of picturesque towns, such as Kastoria and Naoussa , natural landscapes like Kerkini Lake , Axios and the Nestos river and important archaeological sites such as Philippi and Vergina .  Kavala ,with the castle and the old town, is another northern Greek cityll worth visiting , as it has wonderful  beaches , while the area of Volos, with the beautiful Pelion Mountain , beaches and ski center is also relatively close. You can visit the park in Drama, enjoy local dishes in Grevena and discover the picturesque villages. A visit to Florina and the Prespa Lakes will impress you, as  it is one of Greece’s most famous  landscapes.
